Denim shorts have finally reached the Brussels sprout and anchovy category in my eyes – strongly detested.
I have always wanted to like denim shorts, really. I love how effortless they look with a white tee, or casually thrown over a bikini in the summer. But hot damn, I have had enough. I must have gone through at least 5 pairs – all of which have been ultimately passed on to more deserving individuals or forever exiled to the back of my wardrobe. Not one has ever been remotely comfortable or made my derrière look good, let alone be something I’ve wanted to wear on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, it seems the answer to ‘who likes short shorts’ is a resounding ‘not me!’.
But that’s okay – because I’ve finally found a suitable replacement. Denim A-line skirts have been doing the rounds for quite while now and I’ve always really liked the look of them. However, as with most things, it took a while for me to find the perfect version. It eventually materialised in the form of this Topshop number – it’s snug around my waist, roomy around my hips, looks super cute and comes in 3 different shades. I’m well convinced.
