I made it!
We had our second 'snow day' in two weeks on campus today. So, naturally, I decided it was a perfect opportunity to run around in the snow with my midriff exposed, and attempt to get some photos of the new jacket I picked up last week. Unfortunately, it's becoming evident that taking half-decent blog photos is almost impossible without a brother or boyfriend to harass into taking them for you. Cue my camera precariously balanced on an electricity box half-burried in snow, and me running back and forth to press the timer button. All the while trying to ignore the confused looks from passing uni students wearing enough snow gear to tackle Antarctica in. Australians can really be so determined sometimes.
The jacket was purchased during Saturday's online sale (Kate Spade's less expensive diffusion line), and has helped close the coat-less gap in my winter wardrobe. It's warm enough to wear once the temperature climbs above zero, and is the perfect length to wear with mid-rise jeans. I've always been in love with the idea of a shearling collar, and I like how it helps elevate this jacket in particular from being too simple and basic.
Everything's basically descended into combinations of navy, black, white and denim blue since coming to the States. Which, although undeniably 'chic', is also somewhat depressing. As a result, I'm now on a crusade to inject a little more colour into my wardrobe again. Expect to see a lot of baby blue, pink and peach creeping their way onto the blog over the next few weeks!
